"I've been a fan of this show since it first aired," she shared, reflecting on the many times fans speculated about her being a contestant. "People have guessed me so often, and I thought, 'Wow, I should really be on that show.' I know some friends who work behind the scenes, and I've always expressed my desire to participate, but our schedules never matched up—until now."
One striking revelation during her reveal was that Tiffany Haddish is on her way to achieving EGOT status, having already won an Emmy for hosting "Saturday Night Live" in 2018 and a Grammy for her 2021 comedy album "Black Mitzvah." This exceptional achievement means she only needs an Oscar and a Tony to complete the prestigious set. Not to worry, though; she has devised a clever plan to secure both accolades. "I recently came up with this idea for a one-woman show on Broadway, similar to what John Leguizamo has done," she explained. "Then, after finishing on Broadway, I’ll film it and release it in theaters as a movie a year later." (Tony, check; Oscar, check.) "When that happens, people will be shocked. But trust me, I’ve been working on this since 2020."
Reflecting on her experience, Haddish stated that her time on "The Masked Singer" surpassed her expectations. Yet, she did have one complaint: "I felt like I lost 10 pounds wearing that costume!" she laughed. "They seriously need to add some fans in there. But then again, I guess they might have messed up my wig, so I’ll take the heat over that!"
