The data is clear: the vast majority of rising leaders are already leveraging AI. The survey, which polled 1,007 individuals aged 22-39, all of whom are employed full-time, aspire to leadership roles, and are knowledge workers, found some striking results.

Yulie Kwon Kim, Google Workspace VP of product, emphasizes that this cohort is ahead of the curve in adopting and understanding how to best utilize AI. They're not just using it; they're actively integrating it into their professional lives.
But here's where it gets controversial... While young professionals are enthusiastic about AI, they also crave authenticity. The study found that content often feels impersonal. 92% of respondents want AI-generated responses tailored to their style and preferences. 90% would use AI more if it were more customized. This desire for personalization is driving innovation in Google Workspace, with features like personalized smart replies in Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
Kim points to a compelling example from Google's I/O conference, where CEO Sundar Pichai used Gemini in Gmail to assist a friend. Gemini searched Pichai’s Google apps, found his itinerary, recreated his writing style, and generated a complete reply. This demonstrates how Google is using user context to enhance AI capabilities.
