Gaby Roslin, the beloved TV and radio presenter, is back with a new show that has reignited her passion for animals and highlighted the importance of pets in our lives. In an exclusive interview, Roslin shared her thoughts on The Joy Of Pets, a new series that showcases Britain's love affair with animals.
A Show Close to Her Heart
Roslin, who came up with the idea for the show, approached producers Bandicoot Scotland with a vision to celebrate the joy and companionship that pets bring to our lives. She believes that the show will resonate with viewers, as it did with her.
"It's pets, it's joy… and it's a bit naughty, which I like!" Roslin exclaimed. "We don't take ourselves too seriously. We're working with the best in the business."
The show, she adds, is a testament to the nation's love for animals. "Every single person I have talked to about the show – not people in the TV business but across the board – they all go ‘ahh’, it just makes me want to cry."
A Magical Collaboration
Roslin's co-star, Dr. Bolu Eso, a veterinarian and expert in animal care, is a key part of the show's charm. Roslin describes him as a "magical soul," and their collaboration has been a joy. "He’s in the right profession and I love him and working with him! I couldn’t wish for someone lovelier to spend time with," she gushed.

The show, Roslin notes, has made her realize the profound impact pets have on our lives. "What the show did is remind me how important our pets are in our lives. I knew this but it underlined it," she said. "It reignited my deep love for all animals. I’m mad about all animals, both pets and those in the wild."
Dr. Eso echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the unconditional love and companionship that pets offer. "They teach you the value of life. They give unconditional love, they love you on your worst days, they love you on your best days – they love you consistently. There’s no bite back, there’s no manipulation, it’s just a pure relationship," he explained.
A Nation of Animal Adorers
The Joy Of Pets will take viewers on a journey across Britain, exploring the diverse range of pets and their owners. From dogs and cats to tortoises and tarantulas, the show will feature heartwarming stories and practical tips from animal experts. "We’re a nation of animal lovers and this show proves it," Roslin concluded.
The series, consisting of five 60-minute episodes, will air every Sunday at 11:30 am on ITV and ITVX, with the first episode set to air on August 23rd.
