This award, typically reserved for foreign nationals who have fostered unity and cooperation with Uzbekistan, was presented to Ben Sulayem during a meeting with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The gathering focused on shared priorities, including automotive mobility innovation, road safety, and the growth of motorsport in the region.
During their discussion, President Mirziyoyev and Ben Sulayem delved into Uzbekistan's impressive advancements in mobility and motorsport. They highlighted the ambitious Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy, which aims to construct an extensive network of roads, connecting urban centers with rural areas, totaling an impressive 5,500 km. Furthermore, they emphasized the country's growing automobile production capacity and its commitment to adopting sustainable energy solutions for its public fleet.
The leaders also touched upon the Government's initiatives to encourage youth participation in sports and their long-term vision to develop motorsport in Uzbekistan.
Following the meeting, FIA President Ben Sulayem expressed his gratitude, stating, "It is a true honor to receive the Order of Friendship from His Excellency Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This distinction symbolizes the strong partnership between Uzbekistan and the FIA, and our shared determination to advance progress and opportunity for all."
