Bangladesh Dengue Outbreak 2025: Death Toll Surpasses 400! (2026)

Bangladesh’s dengue situation in 2025 has reached a grave milestone, with more than 400 lives lost and the numbers climbing. As of today, authorities report 401 dengue-related deaths nationwide this year, along with 98,705 confirmed dengue cases since January.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), under the Ministry of Health, provided these figures, noting that three more fatalities and 421 new infections were recorded in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The death count for 2025 now stands at 401, including 19 deaths in December, 104 in November, and 80 in October.

December has seen 4,308 dengue cases so far, in contrast to 24,535 cases in November alone.

To curb the surge, Bangladeshi health authorities have intensified mosquito-control measures, expanding anti-larval campaigns and breeding-site elimination efforts.
